XPS 420, GPU and CPU upgrades?

Hi,

I have a Dell XPS 420 Quad Core Q6600 at 2.40MHz and a GeForce GTS 450 8GB ram. I wanted to know if upgrading is possible. I have been given a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 and wanted to know whether it would even fit and work? I’ve done some research and I think it will? I also want to upgrade the CPU from the Q6600. What are better CPU's that are compatible with the XPS 420?

1. It being a quad-core with 8gb-RAM is the only reason it's even remotely worth messing with.

2. If it fits and required PCIe-Power-Cables are available, then try it.

3. Possibly, but why bother? This machine is 10 years old.
