XPS 8700, A14 BIOS, parameter error

I have always upgraded the BIOS on Dell machines without a hitch.  However, when I tried to upgrade my A13 BIOS to A14 on a Dell 8700, I get two error boxes - one after the other. The first says: Update BIOS Parameter Error. When I close it another pops up: FlashME Parameter Error. This occurs whether you try the flashing in either the Windows 10 or "DOS" environment. I have attempted to run as administrator with no success.
