XPS 8920, Realtek 6.0.1.8248 A07, installation mistake

Got a Dell notification today about an available update to the Realtek Audio Driver package 6.0.1.8248 A07 for my XPS 8920 with Win10 1903. After putting it in, found my speakers plugged into the back, green audio jack were not working. Also noticed in the 'information area' of the 'events' tab of the 'properties' of the 'Realtek Audio' entry in 'audio inputs and outputs' of Device Manager showing the driver 'requires further installation' (or some such)!

While the new software of the package was still installing, I had done something wrong. An action centre (?) popup had appeared at the lower right of the desktop telling me a restart was required and I had unwittingly proceeded to immediately do so - apparently silently killing the install prematurely.

Ignore this popup people and wait a minute or two for the installation progress bar to reach the far right end whereupon the installer itself will prompt you to restart your PC at the right time.

Yes...Doing the update properly does appear to be working for me.

Thanks for that alert.

Did the Realtek driver eventually get installed correctly?
