XPS 8930 SE, GTX 1060 to MSI GTX 1080?
I purchased the Dell XPS 8930 Special Edition with the following specs:
- 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8700 6-Core Processor (12MB Cache, up to 4.6 GHz)
- 16GB DDR4 at 2666MHz Dual Channel
- M.2 256GB PCIe x4 SSD + 2TB 7200 rpm Hard Drive
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB GDDR5 Graphics Memory
- Special Edition Silver Plastic Bezel Chassis (460W)
I was wondering if I can install a MSI GeForce GTX 1080 with the current PSU (460w) that comes with the PC?

Check this post for GPU particulars. You need to upgrade your PSU

For my notes, click my name and private message me the XPS 8930 service tag number.
Our 460w PSU was validated with our OEM GTX 1080 video card =
XHY8P Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080, MSI, 8GB, DP1.3/DP1.3/DP1.3/HDMI2.0/DVI-D DL, 180w
MSI recommends a minimum of a 500w PSU for their GTX 1080.

Thank you Chris, is there a recommended PSU Brand/Model to upgrade to that i can put into my new XPS 8930 SE so that i can use my MSI GTX 1080?
* No, not from Dell. That will have to come from other XPS 8930 owners. DELL-Chris M
Also in regards to your note for the Service Tag Number, i do not have that yet as i just ordered my XPS 2 days ago.
* No worries. DELL-Chris M
