XPS 8930 SE, add 4K blu ray burner?
Anyone have any insight into replacing a DVD-only internal drive on an XPS 8930 SE with a PiAEK 4K Blu-ray burner? I haven't been able to find an LG that has been cited as the Dell factory drive in stock, so I started looking. The PiAEK drives seem to be the best rated on Amazon (yes, should be taken with a grain of salt.). Also, will any of these slim lines burn 4K? I've been burning blu rays for years, but have no experience with 4K. Any suggestions on a quality replacement for the DVD drive would really be appreciated.
Thanks,
Duck

I suggest a "real" 5.25 inch SATA burner/ripper in external (USB-3 or better) enclosure.

Also, any copying or authoring of Blu-Ray 4K discs will require software capable of such new things.

A "real" sized drive would be quieter in operation as well from experience.

I recently upgraded my 8930 to the LG BU40N and it was a straight PNP swap. Works great. Just be careful with removing the front trim piece to install on the new drive.
