XPS 13 9380, USB-C port, restart always needed
Hi!
I have a dell XPS 13 9380, and I have found that the USB C port continues to be temperamental. One problem I am facing is that the USB C port seems to die when disconnecting and reconnecting video devices. In order to get it working again, a full restart is needed. For example, right now I am using an eGPU (Razor Core Chroma) with 2 external monitors. Everything works great, but if I put the computer to sleep and then reopen, usually I need to restart the computer before I can get the monitors up and going again. I have about 3 different USB C docks, and have experienced similar issues with the others also, so it seems to be an issue with the laptop. I should note that charging often still works, even if the monitors don't.
A full restart consistently fixes the issue, and the USB C ports all work fine again. At this stage, my biggest question is, is there a way to restart the USB C ports without doing a full computer start.
Thanks!
Brian

There have been several updates to the port but none have fixed this issue.

Very similar problem. While connected to any number of diff docks and a monitor will every few days or weeks go dark and unresponsive require and hard shutdown from power button

Exact same issue with a Latitude 7440. After sleep, needs a restart to make the external display work.
