ALT + number doesn't work
Not able to insert ascii codes with ALT + number. My laptop has an us qwerty keyboard; I was suggested to apply "num lock" but I there isn't a key for num lock. The fact is I need to write in spanish a lot and I need to apply accent and ~n no t available in this keyboard. I could fix a combination of keys in Word but they are useless in other apps. Could you please help me? Thanks in advance.

Just as a test, what happens if you connect an external keyboard? Do you have to use NumLock and the number pad keys there, or does Alt and a number key along the top row work? One other option would be to simply add a Spanish keyboard layout, in which case Windows will add an icon in your taskbar that will allow you to quickly switch between US and ES keyboards whenever you want. I realize neither of those suggestions achieves exactly what you’re trying to achieve, but unfortunately I don’t have any ideas for how to make the Alt method work if it doesn’t currently. Sorry!
