Dell XPS 15 9550 Battery swelling, charged for repair still?

Hi my dell XPS 15 9550 is having a battery swelling issue and I spoke to three different people at different levels of Dell essentially saying, “too bad we don’t cover that anymore” despite having a program in the past that did. Is there any other way to get this solution figured out besides paying nearly $200 for the whole process of sending a laptop in for another potentially faulty battery?

That battery swollen or not is several years out of warranty. You are expected to replace yourself if you can find a genuine Dell battery. Batteries are only warrantied for the first year no matter how long your extended warranty is. Don't waste money on sending it in. If you can't find a genuine battery (the recall depleted the stock and lots of scams have appeared) remove the battery and use the adapter alone until you can replace the computer.

In any case, remove the battery now and dispose of it properly to be safe. See this-
