Dell xps 7590 dual m2 slots ? Not documented

XPS 15 7590

XPS 15 7590

I have a 7590 and I noticed the mobo has a spare long m2 slot.

I can find nothing about this in the manuals. The manuals actually say...

Your computer supports one of the following configurations: ●One 2.5-inch hard-drive ●One M.2 2230/2280 solid-state drive (SSD)

So I am confused.

Dell support were unable to provide any info at all.

Will the spare slot work?

Are there restrictions?

Do I spend 200£ on a big drive?

My mobo looks like this one. A short card in the left slot but an empty one on the right.

That slot on the left can be used for a short SSD (2230, 2242), and a long SSD (2280). As for size a 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD is compatible with the 7590. This forum thread should help.

Don't want to burst your bubble but I think you are confused.  The 7590 doesn't have dual m2 for SSD.  Only one for SSD and the other is wireless card.  However, you can upgrade yours to 2tb capacity, it will work.
