External display and laptop display turn black for a second

Every so few minutes or so, both the external display monitor and the XPS 13 9360 screen turn black for about a second and then back to normal. I've noticed that this only happens when WIFI is turned on. This only happens when the external display is connected. The external monitor is a LED samsung display connected via HDMI cable through a hdmi to Usb-C dongle. I've tried changing the refresh rate of both displays to 60 Hz - no change. All drivers are updated.

The following site may help. Also check your power management. Set for Maximum Performance instead of Balanced or Power Saving.

Hi, the link you sent isnt really relevant. Ive also noticed that this problem does not occur when the lan cable is disconnected, which is fed through a usb to ethernet dongle. Perhaps the xps has issues when all of its ports are in use?
