Thank you for your message. This system model has a mini display port. You can use a mini-display to HDMI (if supported on the monitor) to connect an external monitor.

Fyi, you can also use Mini-DisplayPort to Mini-DisplayPort or Mini-DisplayPort to (regular) DisplayPort. In fact, if the system and GPU support DisplayPort 1.2, you could even connect multiple displays from that single output, either using DisplayPort daisy-chaining if your displays support it, or using a DisplayPort MST hub -- but I'm not certain whether that generation of XPS 13 supports that.
