XPS 15 9560, problem with turning on

Hello,

I have a problem with turning on my laptop, a Dell XPS 15 9560 I bought two years ago. When I turn it on, the dark page with Dell logo on it does not change to the Windows login page. I need to turn it off by hand, and then the Windows login page is loaded. I am not sure what the problem is. I appreciate any help.

Thank you.

Welcome to the Dell Community  @sfmoosavian

Go to "Settings"

Then to "System"

Then on the left hand side click on "Power & Sleep"

Then on the right hand side click on "Additional Power Settings"

Then on the left hand side click on "Choose what the Power Buttons do"

Then click on "Change settings that are currently available"

Then un-check "Turn on fast startup" then "Save Changes" and reboot.

Best regards,

U2

@sfmoosavian

Until the eClerx team approves the images only you can see the photos.

Please look at my EDITED post above.

I had one step that should not be there.

Let me know how that works.

Thank you very much U2CAMEB4ME for your reply.

However, after choosing "Change Plan Settings" I have the following

There is no "Choose what Power Buttons Do" option. When I click on "Change advanced power setting" I have the following

As you can see, there is an entry "power buttons and lid" but no "Turn on fast startup" option.

@U2CAMEB4ME

It works! I am not sure what has happened. I updated the Windows 10 and after that this happened. Anyway, thank you so much.

This did absolutely nothing to resolve the problem. Every single time I close the lid it will be stuck on the Dell screen.

I've seen this turn off fast start up suggestion elsewhere, it doesn't work.

Welcome to the Dell Community  @Niall O D

There are two things that can solve this until Dell/Intel come up with a new update.

ONE:

Go to "Settings"

Then to "System"

Then on the left hand side click on "Power & Sleep"

Then on the right hand side click on "Additional Power Settings"

Then on the left hand side click on "Choose what Power Buttons Do"

Then click on "Change settings that are currently available"

Then un-check "Turn on fast startup" then "Save Changes" and reboot.

TWO:

Rollback the BIOS and IRST drivers.

Dell XPS 15 9560 System BIOS:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=yf1g0&oscode=wt64a&produc...

Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver and Management Console:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=hmxxt&oscode=wt64a&produc...

Best regards,

U2

It just a temporary fix, what about permanent solution for this?
Also this method will work only when we completely shutdown pc and start it but will not work if we put our pc in sleep mode and start it after sometime.
