Upgrade 16GB RAM for XPS 15 9560 individually or in a kit?

I want to upgrade my XPS 15 9560 RAM to 16GB and I read that the requirements are as follows:

260 pin
Dual-channel DDR4
unbuffered
1.2v
non-ECC
2400MHz

But is Dual-channel RAM the same as Dual RANK? One option I have is the Kingston HyperX Impact which I've seen many use (but I've only seen people upgrade using the 32GB RAM KIT).

I can't seem to find HyperX kits in my country so I only have this option:

I thought it was alright, but then I noticed it is single rank. As you can see, the 16GB kit is dual rank:

So my question is, will it be alright to purchase 2x8 individual RAM sticks rather than the kit? Will it still work?

Dual channel means matched pairs of RAM.  Dual rank simply means there are memory chips on both sides of the soDIMM, vs single-rank, which has them on only one side.

HyperX RAM isn't needed - the system cannot be overclocked.  If you want Kingston RAM, order two KCP424SS8/8 modules.

@ejn63 The differences I saw between KCP424SS8/8 and HX424S14IB2/8 is that the latter is CL14 latency and has a memory depth of 1G, whilst the former has CL17 and a memory depth of 2G (no idea what that means). Anyway, I assumed that overclocking was to do with MHz (which both are 2400MHz anyway). If they are both compatible with my machine, would it hurt to purchase the HyperX instead? It is the cheaper option from what I've seen.

Also, do you have any recommendations for other alternative RAM upgrades that are compatible with the XPS 9560? Thanks.

That would be a good question for your dealer -- or Kingston.  If you're looking for tested-to-work RAM for your system, you can't do better than Crucial.com.
