XPS 13 9300, BIOS 1.3.0, power button sleep not working

After updating the BIOS to version 1.3.0, my laptop will no longer go to sleep when I press the power button. The setting to sleep the power button when I press it is turned on in power settings, so I think it's a bug.

Update: I submitted a service ticket and got an interesting reply. Since I have onsite support, they offered to either replace my motherboard (with one on the old BIOS) or stated that a software update will fix the problem next month. A new motherboard is a huge hassle so I will just wait. If they don't fix it next month, then maybe.

I hope you doing well.

After checking in our system, in March will be released a new BIOS driver (1.5.0) that will fix the issue.
If you don't want to wait for the new driver, we can prepare a dispatch with a new motherboard with an older version of BIOS.

I'll wait for your answer!

Have a great day!
Thank you for choosing Dell EMC.

Thank you! We have received the required details. We will work towards a resolution. In the meantime, you may also receive assistance or suggestions from the community members.

You might want to roll back to 1.2.0 to test if the issue persists in the previous version.

I have the same problem for some days. Really annoying.

Now "downgraded" to the old BIOS version 1.2.0 and it worked again. Definitely a bios problem of the newest version. Please fix asap! This is actually a mistake that should not be possible with such an expensive device.

I have the same issue since the new bios update recommended by SA from Dell itself! What a shame. I've got issues every time I upgrade from SA. It's definitely not  the experience I've hoped buying a so expensive and "premium" laptop.

Does anyone know what 1.3 was supposed to fix?

Same here from Japan. I reverted back to 1.2.0 and it worked again. It's the only workaround at this moment.

I was told Dell will release newer/corrected version by mid December.

@edgar83 thanks for the note about the new BIOS. It is ridiculous that new version 1.4.1 has absolutely no statement of what the changes are. C'mon Dell, please get your act together.

With 1.4.1 you cant downgrade anymore, so im stuck with non-working power button.

I see that after I wrote that comment above that a new section "Fixes & Enhancements" has been added to the release note with a single bullet point "Enhanced the performance of the system". Sorry Dell, a generic comment is as bad as no comment.

@ULTRABOOK-HERO @Toshi_K

Just updated to BIOS 1.4.1 and still having the same issue. This is the first XPS device I saved up for and owned and I'm quite disappointed. The hardware is amazing and I love a lot of things but its not that great compared to what past XPS model owners are saying.

I have been aware of BIOS 1.4.1, but I still stay on 1.2.0 because Dell Update app did not recommend to update...
