XPS 13 9343 powers off when power supply is unplugged
My XPS 13 9343 goes through periods where it will not stay powered when I unplug the power supply. Additionally, if I start the laptop when it is not plugged in, the Dell logo on the startup screen will come up as well as the loading animation but then it will shut off. Lastly, after the laptop shuts down when on battery, when I plug in the power supply again it will start with a warning message that the laptop shut down due to overheating, despite the fact that the computer was completely cool.
After a bit of googling, I have tried draining the "flea power" several times as instructed (remove and disconnect the battery and hold down the power button for 30+ seconds) and this doesn't resolve the issue. I have also run the system diagnostic from bios and it has not identified any issues.
Has anyone run into a similar problem?

How old is the battery? Is the original to the system?

It is about a month old. It is a replacement made by 2-Power.

I should also add that the laptop runs very slow when not plugged into the power adapter (at times when it is not experiencing the shut down phenomenon).

Contact the battery seller for a warranty replacement.

Why do you believe it is an issue with the battery? The BIOS is claiming the shutdown was due to overheating (and this is shown in the system logs), yet it only happens when I disconnect the power adapter.

Since the battery should still have a warranty, you lose nothing by trying that first. And if the issue isn't the battery -- it's likely something far more expensive, which is the mainboard.

Hi,
I have started to experience this exact issue today, were you able to find a solution?
I am still using the original battery that came with the laptop
my dell xps 13 9394 was purchased mid 2015.
Dilan.

Unless there are other symptoms, it's likely a battery at the end of its lifespan. Replace it -- with an OEM Dell battery.
