XPS 13 9360, hard drive not installed? #2

Hi all.

My XPS was having a hard drive error, and not booting. So i thought it was broken, and I bought a new one (Samsung 970 EVO Plus).

The error keeps showing and the laptop is still not booting. The diagnostic fails and in the BIOS it is not recognised.

Dont know what else to do

Did you format the drive and install windows? The bios will not see a blank unformatted drive. Boot to windows installation media and install windows. Create Media site is here with directions--

It would help if we new exactly what you are doing.

If you are trying to do a clean install and have not set the SATA controller to AHCI, you need to load the SATA F6 Floppy drivers during the install.

If you have changed the Bios SATA setting to AHCI, the new drive should install fine.

If you are cloning or imaging the original drive, let us know.

The diagnostic will not see a M.2 NVMe drive if running in that mode.
