XPS 15 9500, DMC not working?

After running Dell mobile connect for some time on my 2020 XPS 15 9500 the latest update is suddenly telling me 'Sorry, but this system does not have the minimum requirements for running Dell Mobile Connect'. Like what?

Help, please?

Add following registry key to skip the DMC (Dell Mobile Connect) manufacturer check =

REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Screenovate\BluePhone" /v SkipManufacturerCheck /f /t REG_SZ /d 1

Note, the 4 keys under regkey ...\store are not required.

I am having the same problem. Used to run the software for years and today suddenly, it says that my system (XPS9570) does not have the minimum requirments.

Have you guys installed the latest Dell Mobile Connect driver  from the dell download site before try to install the Dell Mobile Connect application available at the Microsoft Store?

This is the Important Information from the dell site:

Dell Mobile Connect requires two components to work properly. The Dell Mobile Connect driver (available here), and the Dell Mobile Connect application available at the Microsoft Store. Ensure that you have the latest version of the application and the driver installed on your computer.

Note: Please ensure that the Bluetooth is turned on before installing this update.

Yes, absolutely. Several times, in fact, including running the driver install as administrator, which one site suggested.

Dell have just suggested doing a clean install of the OS. Just not an acceptable solution even if it were possible, which it isn't in my case.

24th Jan - all working well. 25th Jan - update to DMC - stops working. Ok, reinstall the complete OS!?! I don't think so! @Revery0 I hope you have better luck.

Its seems to be the 25th January update which is causing the issue.

I'm running Support Assist to see if any of those updates somehow fix it. Unaware of anything else I installed, though been a few days since I used SupportAssist in any case, and no joy today. XPS17

It worked for me doing the following =

* Uninstall both the DMC drivers and DMC app
* Reboot the PC
* Install DMC 2.0
* Install DMC Microsoft Store app
* Reboot the PC

I tried this. Didn't work for me. Neither did using SupportAssist.

That driver version is quite out of date. Where did you find it?

Downgrading to version 3.0 worked for me (V 3.0 is not available from the MS Store):

Install DMC V3.0

Hi,

Was working fine on my XPS8940 on the 24th Jan and stopped working today on the 25th Jan.

Any updates to this issue from Dell?

Thanks

You're welcome. You probably want to go into the MS Store settings and turn off "Update apps automatically" to keep the bad update from being applied again.
