XPS 15 9500 not waking up from S3 sleep state

Hi, with the 9700 and 9300, disabling "sign of life" in BIOS fixes this problem but with the 9500, this does not work and S3 wake remains broken with no workarounds in sight. The laptop goes into S3 just fine. It just does not wake up.

Please help. The same problem occurs on the Precision 5550.

And please don't talk about Modern Standby which is a Microsoft Windows thing which has no relevance to a laptop other than it's one of the operating systems that could potentially run on it.
