XPS 9550 TPM 2.0 Firmware Update Fails
I have a Dell 15 9550, I need to upgrade TPM from 1.2 to 2.0 module using the utility "DELLTPM_STHC1_20_74.64.0.0.64_v1.exe. Always get a message "Firmware update failed Rebooting System".
I've tried everything:
- clear TPM via BIOS
- clear TPM via Windows
- disable auto provisioning
Do you have any ideas? Any helps?

If your 9550 is the same as mine, you have a 6th generation processor. Even if you could get TPM 2.0 installed, Windows 11 is not available for it.

The one machine I ran a firmware update on seemed to work OK. Even though a 6th Gen processor may not be acceptable, we can still try. I have 4 7th Generations systems which do not qualify now, but that could change.
DellTpm2.0_Fw1.3.2.8_V1_64.exe
Just download it from the security section of the downloads site and try doing it directly..

I have the same problem...
Call this a solution? The 9550 is an expensive laptop, the customer friendly thought of Dell is, do not provide service?

It is the correct answer, so it is the solution. Microsoft released Windows 11 requiring an 8th generation Intel CPU; the XPS 9550 is not supported.
