Provision volume in blocks

Is there a way to provision a volume by the number of blocks?

don't think so but you could use kilobytes. Are you migrating from another EMC storage array where 1 block = 512 bytes ?

here is a ~34g VMAX device

Device Block Size : 512

Device Capacity

{

Cylinders : 18414

Tracks : 276210

512-byte Blocks : 35354880

MegaBytes : 17263

KiloBytes : 17677440

so let's say you have a 34G VNX device that you want to migrate to XIO.

(35354880 block * 512) / 1024 = 17677440 kilobytes

That’s correct – you cannot size XtremIO volumes by using the number of blocks. You can define it in multiples of 8KB.

Thanks! No, I'm not migrating, someone created an odd sized volume (1.31TBs) and I need to set up a replica in RP. The block sizes don't match so I can't set up the CG. My plan is to expand the volume to a round number, say like 1.4TBs and create the same size replica.
