Aurora R11, not reading new ram

I got some new ram for the Alienware, 16 gb I put it in slot 2 next to the 8gb ram when I turn on my computer and check the ram it’s still 8gb

The problem may be that the Aurora R11 specs do not list 24 GB of RAM as compatible. This page has more information. You would have to purchase another 16 GB RAM module to have a total of 32 GB or return the 16 GB module and install an 8 GB module to have a total of 16.
