Aurora R5, CPU upgrade i9-9900K

Can this be done? Socket appears to be the same (LGA1151), but I do know there is a chipset consideration (300 series compatibility?). Can anyone just confirm whether or not I can swap the i7-6700 for this i9? I have the liquid cooled 850.

Thnx,

Ryan

No.  Although both 1151, the pin assignments for power delivery changed from z170 to z370.  With a modded bios it might be possible to post with a 9900k, however, it would be unstable and there's like no way Dell would release a bios update to allow something Intel does not even support.  In any event this is not supported or possible on an R5.

I suspected based on the readings I had done, but glad it's confirmed.

    Thanks!
