Eight beeps does mean an un-identified display panel.
Can you get the screen diagnostics to run (hold the D key through powerup) or does the display remain black?

You have a 2016 out of warranty 15 R2. I have edit the thread title adding the model. Run the LCD Built-in Self-Test as mentioned by ejn63. I would also try attaching an external monitor to the 15 R2 rear HDMI out port to see if it shows a display.

Alienware 15 R4 Diagnostic says 8 light code, is either
2,6 = System-board or chipset error, or
3,5 = Power-rail failureA replacement Alienware 15 R2 motherboard is seemingly required.

It's an 8 beep error code, most likely related to the LCD panel or display cables. These older laptops didn't use light sequence codes.

I agree with mattyb3 and Chris. It’s most likely the LCD and it probably needs replacement. The current Alienware 15 R2 BIOS v1.12.0 is dated 15 Apr 2021 and should have modern beep codes. The 20 Jul 2021 Beep Codes on a Dell Notebook PC for Inspiron, Latitude, Vostro, XPS say 8 = LCD Failure. Did not find Alienware list of Beep Codes.
