My Alienware 17 R1 has developed a problem with the GPU fan control which is affecting the CPU fan. So, what is happening is, after it starts up both fans activate asper normal but after a short period the GPU fan shuts off, this then triggers the CPU fan to run flat out, however the GPU fan does not restart and the GPU temp goes sky high (90 deg. C+).
Does anyone have any insight for this problem and a solution for solving it?
You have two options for solving the problem before you lose your discrete GPU: 1) Uninstall SupportAssist from your laptop. After uninstall, reboot. 2) Disable some services related to SupportAssist. Reboot.
