Hey I have noticed my laptop is having a similar problem that other people have been experiencing but I have found no solutions. My laptop screen is completely dimming itself to 0%. The only way I have been able to temporally solve this issue is to turn the brightness setting to a lower level, close the laptop lid, and open it again. After this the screen will be brighter but if a turn the brightness to high it will again dim. Restarting it has had no effect and I have checked all my drivers and for malware. I am unsure what could be causing the issue and why my temporary solution works and would like to find a more permanent one
I have tried resiting the display cable and turning of tobi and neither of these solutions has worked and my computer still started dimed and will only become undimmed if I close then open it again and then will immediately dim itself again if I turn up the brightness
Hi Xaviertheman, I also started having this issue, opening and closing the screen is a temporary fix. My brightness caps out at 65% anything above that dims the display to 0%. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Have you tried connecting an external monitor to see if it will display on there?
You can also try a power drain by unplugging the power adapter and system battery and holding the power button down for 60 seconds. This can sometimes (rarely) reset the laptop to fix a simple issue.
It is also possible that you have a GPU, LCD or motherboard issue.

Do you have Tobii ?
My screen dims when I look away from it or leave it for a few mins and then brightens or restarts when I look directly at it.
It maybe something to do with the Tobii settings or a win 10 display power saving setting. Worth looking at before taking the laptop to pieces
