Cassini 17 MLK , Light issues

This is my most expensive and first Dell Alienware 17 R5 (i7-8750H, GTX 1070, QHD, Tobii Aware) laptop. It is also a Mod No Cassini 17 MLK, which is a refreshed 17 R5 laptop with per-key RGB lighting and new AWCC software with Alien FX 2.0.

This new 17 R5 is also a big disappointment when it came out of the transit box in dark mode. Dell Support Knowledge Base does not acknowledge the Cassini 17 MLK and there is no Dell solution for Light issues. Cassini 17 MLK was recently returned under the current one year RTB warranty, but these Light issues were not fixed. We know the following features are not working:-

  • Alien Head light disabled
  • Power Button Alien Head light disabled
  • A.L.I.E.N.W.A.R.E logo light disabled
  • Sidebar lighting disabled
  • Keyboard per-key RGB lighting disabled
  • AWCC OC Controls_ CPU, GPU, and memory overclocking capabilities disabled
  • AWCC Home & FX tab disabled

Now the AWCC update will not install, it has a continuous rotating wheel.

    2020Nov15 Post AWCC v5.2.97.0 service is loading.jpg

AWCC v5.2.97.0 loading fault does not ask for install of OC Controls (as in previous versions of AWCC).

BIOS Touchpad backlight option is ON. BIOS Keyboard backlight option not found.

Searched Device Manager but it only has the Microsoft HID Keyboard Device and Microsoft Standard PS/2 Keyboard drivers. Where is the Keyboard per-key RGB lighting driver for this 17 MLK refresh system?

When all of the lights do not work, there must be a common root cause, probably on the main board. The warranty technician was not trained to find and fix these problems. This 17 MLK refresh system should never have been released from the Dell fabrication factory.

Does anyone know the 17 MLK main board circuit functions so we can identify location of all these faults?

Is anyone willing to share Dell's in-house fault tracing application, now that the Alienware 17 series has finished?

    Thank you in anticipation.
