m15 R5, display stopped working

I was playing a game and noticed three or four vertical multicolored lines appear. Within a minute or two the screen went black and completely lost power. The computer was still powered up and I could hear the audio from the game.

This laptop is less than a month old and has never even left my house yet.

Where do I take this for service?

Update = After completing troubleshooting, a DELL-Cares agent setup a part replacement.

    Hi @Cpac0022 !

I hope I can help you with your issue you are having today.

Does the LCD BIST (Built-in Self Test) pass?

"This laptop is less than a month old and has never even left my house yet. Where do I take this for service?"

I would recommend contacting DELL-Cares for warranty service information. They will need to troubleshoot before any service is allowed.

Quick Tip: If your laptop has voltage / charging issues, try shutting it down, unplugging power from laptop, hold power button down for 30 seconds to do a full reset!

The main cause of the Dell black screen issue is a bad connection between your graphics drivers and your operating system. Another possible cause is a display adapter driver update issue. You may also run into a Black Screen of Death after system updates or installations, which you may need a reinstallation of Windows.
