m17 R3, 2020 model, GPU fan not spinning
I am facing an issue with the GPU fan, it is not spinning even though it is trying to do so. The fan starts up and then almost instantly stops with a grinding sound and vibration. Before this the fan was spinning but made constant grinding sound and did not reach 100% RPM even when GPU was heated up.
I opened the laptop and cleaned the dust that was clogging the fan, put a drop of oil in the fan motor by taking out fan from its bearing. It ran fine for a week and then started having the same issue, and now has completely stopped working for the past 3-4 days.
I checked YouTube for assistance but even there it is just being lubricated again and put back into place. The only problem with getting a replacement fan is that I live in India and this never launched here so I literally cannot get any parts for it. Please HELP!

I watched your video first. I think you used automobile oil. I advise using thicker oil, like bicycle chain oil or machine oil. (not grease) A friend of mine used it on his laptop and there was no problem. Maybe lucky.
Wish you had never removed the fan. So I did it on my old laptop and it didn't work so I put a new fan. If you want, try it with bicycle oil, but at most one drop. I think you should buy a new one. because the problem will reoccur.

Hi @ARJUN0512001 welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.
Please look at white label on GPU fan assembly for Dell Part Number DP/N, and search on Internet. From your description a replacement GPU fan assembly is required. In the interim, a temporary solution would be the application of high temperature grease on bearings only, not oil.
