New Avamar deployment-calculating capacity needed

I am fairly new to dedup and Avamar and need to understand the best method to determine how much disk to purchase for a new deployment in 2 datacenters.

We are presently a Veritas NBU shop (use traditional Full-Incremental weekly-daily backup strategy) but migrating over to EMC Avamar. Excellent results from testing and corporate says, let's do it. Ok..so I'm a bit stumped on planning the storage we will need to purchase. Tried the dedup calculators on too many sites- not helping as the info asked is general and not what I'm looking for.

our environment: (total 2 dc's)
-1 full backup= 7TB used raw
-65% Windows/LinuxOS and files (dedup tests show: NEW DATA=99% dedup)
-35% SQL Db (dedup tests show: NEW DATA=85% dedup)
-2 week retention/3 month retention(some data)/7 year retention on certain Dbs

Guess I'm looking for any suggestions on how to approach turning what we presently use on storage and what we would need to purchase using Avamar.
-will be replicating between both sites

    The best thing to do would be to contact your account manager or pre-sales representative. They should be familiar with sizing Avamar systems for large sites and will be able to provide you with valuable experience and advice to size an Avamar system to match your requirements.

    Hi Maco,

    we have done a proof of concept for avamar for our remote offices. For capacity calculation they used very defensive quotes for initial dedup:

    50% to filesystems
    70% by DBs

    But you have to keep in mind that your data change quote is more important than initial dedup quote by any deduplication system. Because if you have very long retention periodes you could run quickly out of storage.

    A example:
    a DB grows 1GB per day -> 365 GB per anno -> 2555 GB for 7 years
    This is without any deletion or archiving data!!!
