move checkpoints

We would like to move a file system from one storage pool to another.  The goal is to move all of the file systems off of a storage pool in order to reclaim it for SAN storage.

I can replicate the file system to the other storage pool, break replication, delete the old CIFS share and create a new CIFS in order to move the file system.

But, how do I move the checkpoints?

I don’t see how, checkpoints are pointers to primary file system. If that’s going away so are the checkpoints.

We have monthly checkpoints, retaining 24.

Is it possible to move them?

    Thanks...

how many checkpoints and what is their retention schedule ? If there are not many of them, keep the old file system/checkpoints around until you have enough checkpoints on the new file system to meet your requirements.

    You cannot “move” checkpoints

Your only choice is to either delete primary fs and checkpoints or at keep both around till they expire
