I know this is probably an implied, common sense way we have always done things with Celerra installations, but I can't for the life of me, readily find this documented in Layman's terms.
I have a Customer who insists that he had at one point, two different Celerra complexes sharing the same backend Clariion luns. I tried explaining in theory, unless there was common NASDB access functionality, there would be no way to utilize these luns, once they were at a minimum, part of a Celerra Storage Pool. I think, once they are discovered by all of a Celerra's Data Movers, end of story, until you remove from all Data Mover acces, via a Clariion Storage Pool activity. Am I offbase here in regards to the NASDB? Is there a document, Architecture or Implementation, that explicity points out that "you cannot share backend luns between two separate Celerra's", that I may provide as proof?
In a sem-related way, can the same be said for different generations of Celerra? Another department has an aging NS350, parked in the data center next to an almost-unutilized NS-120. Could the NS-120 use storage from the CX behind the NS350 as well, if we retire the Celerra head? They don't need to use the old NS350's volumes; they'd just make new LUNs on the freed up NS350's Clariion (not sure of the vintage).

No Way
I think this is so basic its not even documented
Look at the support matrix or installation guide for gateways
In order to use the same LUN from two Celerras or data movers it would
also need à cluster file system
