Accessing Centera through Java / API
Hi Experts,
I am new to Centera and dont know much about it, I am working on documentum and have to look out for possibility to find if we can access Centera stored object directly via any API or java program.
If there is any such possibility to access centera direct please guide me through.. I am not getting the kickoff point for this..
Regards
Prashant

Centera is accessed via an API. In your case Documentum has integrated this in the Content Services for Centera.
You would only have direct acces if you were using something like an HSM solution, a gateway solution or Centera Universal Access.
Using such a solution Documentum would write to a share that one of the applications above is migrating to Centera transparently for you.
In this setup you would have file system access to these objects.
If you want, you can write your own application integrating the API that would give you access. Your application will need to make sense out of the objects and the form Documentum has written then if you want to acces the same objects directly.
You can register for application development under community.emc.com.
