Dell Chromebook 3100 camera not working

I have 3 of these 3100's now, that are experiencing this same issue. The camera doesn't work on any app including the built-in google camera app. I have power washed, full system recovery, even replaced the camera it's self. There's no error it just never loads.

    jraz,

Apologies, for missing the chromebooK OS installed. You mentioned you replaced the camera? Did Dell replace the camera or did you?

    Maybe the camera is broken.

This problem normally occur because of two reasons; either the software connected to the camera is faulty or outdated OR the camera itself is faulty. There is no such big logic behind this issue. Try install an uninstall the application that had the issue. Also check for the driver update.

I am having this same issue and have also changed the cameras.  My chromebook is updated and there are not any drivers to install on these devices.

This question is about a Chromebook in a Dell Chromebook forum. Why would a Dell "Community Manager" ask, "Does the camera show up in the device manager?" THERE IS NO DEVICE MANAGER. This is a Chromebook question. It is asked in a Chromebook forum.

Google is tracking a spike in this issue.

use shift+alt+i  Use the hashtag #camera

Hopefully, there's a fix from google or dell. before I have another dozen of these sitting on my desk.

Sometimes antivirus blocks the useful stuff too. just disable the antivirus and try again or check and update the drivers also.
