Hi all,
We have a CX400 system that until recently has been behaving itself. However, one of the SP's (SPB to be precise) has decided to become 'Unmanaged'. The only changes that I am aware of was a password change to the administrative account login. No hardware or software changes have been applied, it has just decided to stop playing ball. I am unable to connect through Navisphere to the unit, but the LUNs are available to the hosts in the storage group and there is no failover situation. Anyone have any bright ideas?
I too faced the same problem like u but its on a CX600.
Unmanaged could simply mean that the management server on the SP has stopped running, or the Agent Service on the SP has stopped...or simply that JAVA just hasn't refreshed fast enough for Navisphere to see the SP...
in IE, type in the IP Address of SPB followed by slash and the word setup
this will log you into the Management Server on the SPs...use your admin login...and scroll down to where it says to restart the management server...this will not disconnect the SP from use, but it will restart the management of the SP...this has happened time and time again in the labs we use...
On the CX400/600 if the SP is unmanaged you will need to reboot the SP. The Agent program running on the storage processor can not be restarted by restarting the Management Server as you can in release 24 and 26.
You should ping the SP that is unmanaged first to ensure that the sp is still working.

Does my suggestion answer the issue with your Unmanaged SPB.
