Dell Complement SC8000

Hello guys,

I again need your help, so, at the moment I have Dell Complement SC8000, the customer gave me login & password BUT it will not let me into the system (probably he gave me wrong entry data). So I'm stucked and don't know what can I do. Is there any chance of factory reset or something like this?

Thanks Y'all for replys I look forward.

John

    Hello @Johnny_420,

As far as I know, this is the procedure to recover access to a SC8000 which access has been lost.

Are you sure you followed all the steps?

    Regards.

Greetings @DiegoLopez, the problem is, when I connect my serial cable to the server and my computer, I can see in the terminal message: Failed controllers, first selection, restart.
So I cant even type like any command.

I also tried deleting the Nvram via jumper on the motherboard and also nothing changed.

    Regards.

    Hello @Johnny_420.

Okk, so the compellent is locked due to Failed controllers. You need to first unlock the compellent. But normally this operation is done by Dell Support. Is your compellent still on warranty? Or, if not, can you consider a quote for Out of Warranty support?

    Regards.

    Hi @DiegoLopez,

The end of life (support services) of my Compellent sc8000 expired 31 AUG 2021. Like what I found out on websites. Yeah like I know that I have to unlock it but how? When even Dell is no longer supporting this. idk.

Regards and thanks for the help.

    Hello again @hello @Johnny_420,

If the compellent is out of warranty you can still contact Dell support and ask for a quote for reparation. Keep in mind that you might have a failed controller as per the information you have provided.

So maybe a hardware replacement might be required.

    Regards.
