Can't get a straight answer
Like the title says. I ordered an Alienware R5 on Feb. 28. When I ordered it, the delivery date was Mar. 7 - 12. Since the 7th would have meant that it would ship before that, I used the chat function and called in directly a few times last week to see if I could find out when my order will ship. I can't get a straight answer to my questions so I may as well try here.
So, my FIRST question has been this each time - "Can the service rep actually tell me when the laptop that I ordered will ship?". In other words, can they tell where EXACTLY it is in the production schedule? If they can't and they only have the same info that I have online, then there is no reason for me to give them my order number, address, email, phone number, etc. just to have them quote what I can see online. Nobody has yet to answer my question. Instead, they insist on taking all my info and tell me that it will ship on the 8th and arrive by the 12th.
So, for the last week, I have been told that my computer would ship on the 8th (yesterday). However, there still wasn't any shipping info online today. Today I was again told that it would ship on the 8th and arrive on the 12th - until he realized that the 8th was yesterday and it hadn't shipped yet. While he was telling me that story, I refreshed my order screen and now it says that the estimated delivery date is the 18th - 21st! When I asked about the additional 11 day delay, I was told that I would have to contact customer care but they are closed until Monday. Great! Apparently it isn't a problem to delay delivery on the weekend, it's only a problem to explain why. I'm really beginning to wonder if I've made a mistake in ordering this computer.
