trying to get return authorization
On Nov 27th I purchased an Inspiron 17. I am replacing an XPS 15 L502x but wanted a 17”. Since the XPS doesn’t come in a17” I tried the Inspiron. After trying the Inspiron I realized that the quality was nowhere NEAR that of the XPS in any way shape or form. The Inspiron order has never shown up in my account and I have never gotten any update emails from Dell about this order. So I called to initiate a return. After almost an hour of being on hold and being transferred a couple of times I got disconnected.
I decided to try to initiate a return via the Dell website. I completed the request and got an email saying I would get an email within 30 minutes with instructions on the return. Six hours later – still no email so I called again and went through essentially the same process, being transferred and eventually disconnected after almost an hour of hold time.
I want to return the Inspiron and my thinking was to forget the 17 inch and get another XPS, 15 (and spend a ton more $$) since it’s been such an awesome laptop.
This whole experience with Dell is making me rethink that. I have been a Dell customer since 2001 and this would be my 5th Dell computer.
I’m not feeling the love.

Dell doesn't have a problem sending me email trying to sell me something. To add insult to injury the email includes this little gem: Free shipping and EASY RETURNS. I've been trying to get a return authorization since Dec. 21st.
