I have an EX300 with 5 nodes with 4 TB hard disk size. Now I am adding another 5 nodes with 8 TB hard disk size. I would like to know is it possible to have both types of nodes under the same storage pool. How will the erasure coding work in this case? Can I still sustain 2 nodes failure as the additional nodes disk size is larger?
Yes, you should be able to have all of it under the same pool and maintain the same level of redundancy. It is recommend to contact phone support for expansions to minimize the risk of any issues occurring.

How will the erasure coding work in this case? all data is written in 128 mb blocks. how is this 128 MB spread on disks, is not clear. and how many disks are used for this max,min etc..
yeah I do not understand how can this give the exact protection with different disk size. All the KB and whitepaper are assuming same disk type. The node with bigger disk size is holding more data. With 8 nodes and default protection 12+4, I just don't understand how it can sustain 2 nodes failure in this case.
