Factory Resetting Equallogic PS6510

I have an EqualLogic 6510, and I had to remove the additional drives I added. I ssh'd into the group manager IP and did a reset command. However, I am not able to connect to EqualLogic and manage it. It shows up as read-only and doesn't load the group manager information. How can I completely reset the EqualLogic? Hoping I don't need to use a serial cable.

    Hi,

I did try the RSW, however, it didn't find the uninitialized PS. It seems that it didn't reset properly or it is pending a reboot to clear the cache?

    Hello,

When you do a reset, it restarts the array automatically.   Likely, it's not completely reset.  You will need the serial cable.  It's a standard NULL model configuration, nothing proprietray.  Don't use Cisco switch cables they aren't wired standard.   9600,N,8,1, NO flowcontrol.

      Regards,

    Don

    Hello,

If you reset it, then there is no IP configuration anymore to SSH or use the GUI.   That means either using the serial port, or if you happen to have downloaded the HIT kit software that offers a remote setup wizard tool.  You would have to be on the same physical network as the array, any unconfigured arrays will show up in the RSW tool and allow you to configure it.

     Regards,
