Installing second set of disks & connecting second server (2k8R2)
We've been using our MD3000i as a Backup2Disk solution, conected to our current File Server (running Windows Server 2k3). Now that we had approval for expansion and server replacement, I've installed 10 disks to the Storage enclosure and created a second disk group and second virtual disk.
Somehow I'm unable to connect the new server to the second disk group properly. I've consulted online documentation and it seems right, but when in the Disk Management MMC, the iSCSI disk appears "like" OFFLINE, although the "Set offline" option is available. When trying to initialize the disk, an error message appears displaying "incorrect function".
What could I be doing wrong?
I've checked that the Microsoft iSCSI initiator appears to be a different version on both servers. The one builtin on the Server 2k8R2 has a lot more options.
Also, the server 2k8R2 has two Broadcom iSCSI NICs, with TOE. I used the BACS to configure its IP adresses and they appear on the iSCSI initiator software.

Lance... I feel like a newbie right now. Thanks!
I've downloaded the MD3000i software and it "corrected" iSCSI value in the registry. Perhaps that was the missing item to the configuration. After the registry update and the software install I easily initiated the iSCSI disk on the new server, with no further hassle.
