Can't start PC

How do I solve this problem with my Inspiron ONE 2330?  Error message on attempt to start PC. Location not available. C:\WINDOWS System32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If location can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted.

It may be possible that your window get crashed. You can try to install new window and check again for it

Always include version of Windows in your posts. Did you recently update to Win 10 v2004?

What happens after you get that error message? Are you in Windows or does PC fail to boot at all?

First, find out if your hard drive has a problem. Boot PC and start tapping F12 when you see the Dell splash screen. When the F12 menu opens, look for the option to run the diagnostics, especially the extended hard drive tests. Copy error message(s), if any...

Assuming no hard drive failures, power PC off and unplug power cord from rear of PC. Then disconnect power cord from wall. Press/hold power button on PC for ~30 sec. Reconnect power cord to PC and, last, reconnect power cord to wall. See what happens when you boot now...

    Windows 10

    Location not available.

C:\WINDOWS\System32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or disc is inserted and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you are connected to the network or Internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted.

Can't see the image you posted. Did you post it as a link to another site where it's stored?

Are you able to log into Windows? Do you have another account you can try?

See if any of the fixes suggested here will solve the problem.

Yes, but the object is to fix this PC without having to reinstall Windows and potentially lose all the personal files and apps on the drive...
