Dell SupportAssist not being recognized on Dell's Support Website.
For quite awhile now when going to support.dell.com the website does not see that the SupportAssist app is indeed installed. In fact, when I do a download and try to install it, I am told I have the latest version of the app. But even though I do in fact have the app, the website does not see that I do and I have to go into the app itself to check for updates.
I did read a thread on this in the Alienware side of the forum but the marked solution is to have two boxes checked marked, which I do. I have asked for help through Dell Support but because my computer is not under warranty, they will not help me.
"Thank you for confirming the information, our records indicate that the system is currently out of warranty. Unfortunately, my support is limited in this case, I would request you to reach out to our Advanced Software Support team for further assistance, and they should be able to help you. Please note that their service would be fee-based."
Just wow. I am not the only one who has this problem it seems but sure.
This is the website asking me to download the app, which is already open.
I have tried while signed in, while signed out, with the app already open and me signed into it, with the app already open and me not signed into it and without the app open at all. I have unistalled and tried to reinstall but apparently you cannot actually uninstall this as I am still told I have it on my computer when it is NO WHERE ON MY COMPUTER. The website should probably be looked at by a professional. I think we're going to move away from Dell computers and go with Clevo from now on.
But until then, what does the collective non dell employees mind have for a fix?
Brave is built off the Chrome code : I am aware of that sir, but using Chromium SourceCode doesn't make it Chrome. Same as not every Linux build it UBNUTU
Anyways let Talk about your Problem more. In earlier days SupportAssist and Dell tool used to download a small tool so that it can identify Dell model and pass on the information to SupportAssist. But HTML5 lets a site pass this information without any tool.
How about running SupportAssist and checking for updates (does it work) ?
Running Dell updates and checking for updates does it work.
If both of these tools work find standalone.
Than try MSCONFIG > Services
Supportassist service, Dell hardware, Dell client management, Dell data volt.
All of the above 4 services should be checked.
Now open Chrome Go to support.dell.com
IN top Left click on Lock Symbol > Cookies. Remove until all of them are deleted.
Refresh page and try to check for updates again.
Last option it to uninstall SupportAssist and delete all of it's folders, registries
Apparently "unresolved" happens a lot, which is no excuse for Dell; they're usually on top of things. <Private data removed from public view. DELL-Admin> i could answer easily 100-150 threads a day. Perhaps they should hire me.

How about trying Chrome or Edge.
