Premium support package 2 year 190.00 GBP. My daughters dell laptop  is just over a year old and uses the laptop for university. She is always very careful with. Recently the screen bezel came away from the laptop from there it has basically got worse to the point where the laptop will not open and close. No doubt this will affect screen as one of the hinges has practically disintegrated. The good news is that Dell know about this issue reading the posts in the community even Dell engineers say is a design fault. Bad news, Dell don't care. It turns out that this is a known design fault looking at the other posts posts due to the poor design of the hinge mechanism.

Requested a support hardware call out and they refused  as apparently its cosmetic, when a laptop fails to open an close as it should the the fear of more damage being caused then Dell will simply say it your fault. My request is for a hardware call, the out response was basically we do not cover plastic, you work it out 75% of the laptop is plastic this is not clear when you purchase for the Premium support. Dell are only interested in fixing problems remotely and not sending engineers out on site to fix their bad design issues.

From Dell you think  you are buying a quality product in the first instance -- wrong.

I was a big Dell fan and have purchased several computer and made many recommendations. I will not be doing either anymore. Copy this post will also be sent to dell customer service.
