No -- you will not.  

I feel you, having a battery nondetachable is a curse. However, as ejn63 said, you can remove the base cover and unplug the battery for a while. It doesn't affect your warranty as long as you don't break anything.

These systems use Dell's hybrid power -- i.e., when the system is heavily loaded, it will tap the battery even when it's plugged into AC power.

Is the Linux install from Dell, or is it one you did yourself?  And if the latter, did the system ship with Windows originally?

I just had same issue, got the laptop 3 weeks ago. I was running python code while pulling in memory large data now PC does not turn on but I dont want to open the cover to detach the battery. Battery light is on all the time while not plugged in electricity.

Thanks so much, the laptop is now back to life. I still, however, working on solving the D3cold problem. I'll keep this post updated.

I installed Linux myself, it was originally shipped with Windows. So, what does the power hybridization do for this error. What does it mean at the first place?

For now, I just avoid suspending the system, I only use normal shutdown.

only to say the screws are unbelievably soft. Yes I did find a correct bit - not sure if they are just cheapest manufacturer or someone can tell you opened it. Fortunately I read the service manual so didnt attempt to fully remove the middle 4 screws.

Shouldnt have to be opening a 21 day old laptop because BIOS upgrade failure endlessly reboots causing battery to flat THEN says - ah your battery is below 50% you cannot upgrade bios.
