Inspiron 7559, Cannot start system
My daughters laptop's screen went bad so I swapped the display panel from a parts machine I have lying around. When I went to boot up after that the system failed to start.
When the power cable is plugged in, the light in the front of the laptop is glowing solid white. When I press the power button it quickly blinks white, the fans try to come on, then the front LED blinks once and the fans stop. It never gets past that point.
I have done the display test (D+Power) and I can hear the hard drive and fans spin up and the display comes on and completes successfully, then the system shuts down.
I have also tried to run the diagnostic (Fn+Power) and it does the same thing as just hitting power (does not run diagnostics). Also tried resetting bios using Ctrl+Esc while inserting power cable. As long as Ctrl+Esc is held the LED on the front does not come on, but nothing else happens. As soon as I release the front LED comes on and blinks once, then remains solid.
I am at a loss at this point for what else to try next. I'm worried that swapping the display panel may have somehow fried some component somewhere.

An external monitor would not have been helpful. To provide a little more background information, the problem was that he display turned on, but was shattered and therefore unusable. I had another 7559 with a dead board lying around that I've used to harvest parts from in the past which had an intact display. The actual display panel swap was quite easy so I would say it was not a drastic measure by any means.

I am surprised you didn't try an external monitor first before doing something so drastic.
