PROCESSOR UPGRADE

Dear 

This is my system info, I want to upgrade the processor, it is possible in the model. if possible which type willl be suitable for the model, please advise.

    There is nothing in the Dell service manual about the CPU thus it would appear its not a separate item, like many laptops.   A new system board with a i5 or i7 7th gen CPU is the only option.

    If this is to get an 8th gen CPU so Windows 11 can be supported, upgrading the system board to an 8th gen is not possible.  However, wait as the final Microsoft requirements may change and allow 7th gen CPU's.

    You cannot replace the CPU without replacing the entire system board.  Options are below.

    Note:  to upgrade from your current integrated video system to one using discrete video, you will also need:

    1.  A new heatsink assembly

    2.  A higher power AC adapter.
