Touchscreen stopped working
My touchscreen Inspiron 15 3000 series is no longer functioning. I have gone to Device manager- Human Interface Devices- to deactivate and re-activate the touchscreen but it isn't working what should I do? My warranty is yet to expire

- Have you tried reinstalling the drivers? Also right click on touchscreen in human interface devices and choose uninstall. Then reboot the computer. Windows will reinstall with the correct drivers. Also try the following.1. Restart the computer. Sometimes that is all that it needs.
2. Wipe off the display with a soft, clean cloth. Yes, sometimes it is just that.
3. Go to "Start" and in the search box type "Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input". Choose the top result. In this new screen click "Setup" and follow the instructions.
4. Go to "Control Panel" and then "Device Manager". Select the "Monitors" section and right click on your monitor. Check the information for the touch screen and make sure it is "enabled".
5. Repeat step 4, but instead choose "Update driver software" from the right-click menu.

If anyone ends up here, the fix for mine was; Device Manager>Human Interface Devices>HID Compliant touchscreen>Uninstall device, close all open apps and restart. My touchscreen worked upon restart without any additional steps. Hope this helps.

Old thread but these are the touchscreen drivers. After downloading, I opened the exe and they installed and the touchscreen started working again.
https://dl.dell.com/FOLDER01850500M/2/Touch_Firmware_Elan_A01_W764W864W8164_ZPE.exe
If that link doesn't work go to this link:
https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/inspiron-15-3537/drivers
navigate to "all drivers"
then download "AUO ETP Firmware Update"
