My laptop was working fine until about two months ago when the screen started to not display anything but a black screen- the power light now blinks 5 white and two amber indicating invalid memory installed but i have not added anything or taken anything out, the most recent change i made was install an old printer driver to it. My laptop does not have an express tag— it has peeled off and i am unable to access the f12 bios screen. My keys light up byt my caps lock will not. Please help me!
If the model number sticker is also missing, remove the base cover and search for the mainboard part number -- usually somewhere near the memory or memory sockets, and starting with DP/N (or CN... ) on the mainboard itself.
Unless this system is newer than your description makes it sound, it's unlikely you'll find much support for it. Use the part number on the mainboard to find the model number, and then search for RAM for it -- if replacing the RAM doesn't solve the problem, it's likely in for a repair that will cost more than the system is worth.
