Filesystem Encryption over NFS Isilon folder

Hello!

We have an NFS Isilon folder, and we need to encrypt the folder. Does anyone know of an encryption software that works on linux/windows filesystem that can recommend?

Best regards!

Encryption can be handled in several ways. Data at rest encryption on Isilon can be handled by buying nodes with SEDs (self encrypting drives). Data at flight encryption can be handled by the protocols in use (SMB 3 or kerberized NFSv4), or by a third party application. One of the best in this area is certainly Vormetric from Thales.

    Hope this helps,

    Hi Thorchin,

Starting in OneFS 8.0, Isilon now supports kerberos encryption as well.

Chapter 2 talks about Authentication Providers. The supported encryption types through kerberos is listed there. Isilon Supportability and Compatibility Guide: https://support.emc.com/docu44518

You can also find more in the OneFS Security Configuration Guide that is applicable to your version of OneFS. If you are having trouble finding the guide, let me know what version of OneFS you are working with and I can grab the link for you.
