Why samba/smb shared via linux is faster then smb shared via Isilon
Good Day,
I have this customer who did a smb test using a Windows workstation. They 1st read/write to a smb share from a linux server and did the same to a smb share from Isilon. The sad part here is that, the linux server out performed the isilon. Any particular reason for this? Take note that the environment is operating in 10G..

I would strongly suggest opening a Service Request to have one of our Technical Support Engineers take a deeper dive into the information. As packet captures and some more information around the type of test that was done would be beneficial to assist with a solution.
To create a service request, you have a couple options:
1. Log in to your online account on support.emc.com and go to this page: https://support.emc.com/servicecenter/createSR
2. Call in to EMC ISilon Support at 1-800-782-4362 (For a complete local country dial list, please see this document: http://www.emc.com/collateral/contact-us/h4165-csc-phonelist-ho.pdf)
Once you have a Service Request open you can post the case number in the forum and I can make sure someone gets in contact with you.
